Papa

Papa (now Dudley) was adopted by Barbara & Richard Morriss.

Dudley “Do Right”, we are pleased to say is a great addition to our life.  After losing Phoebee (our precious pug ) in July, we were planning a pugless summer, taking our time before getting a new dog.  But then our daughter found PROS and “Papa”, as he was then known, on line and forwarded his picture to us.  She just had a feeling about Papa, and encouraged us to get more information; and, after all, his picture was adorable.  His tongue, which never quite fits all the way in his mouth, gives him a precious funny face.  Long story short, after the application process we were invited to meet Dudley at Heather Farms park in Walnut Creek.  We took him for a walk, and were very impressed with his impeccable manners.

He did everything right, i.e.,appropriately approached other dogs; didn’t jump on people; heeled as we walked; gave us a sit, down, stay and “high five”.  He was in a word “perfect”.  We brought him home to Carmel Valley, and he is making a very good adjustment.  He is learning to use a doggie door and relieve himself on his own outside instead of a litter box.  He is catching on.  He is a great snuggler and loves nothing more than to cuddle with his humans in the evening and relax.

His life so far has included a strut along Ocean Avenue during the Avenue Car Show, a run on Carmel Beach, a hike in Garland Park, and going on numerous errands and walks here and there.  Next week he goes on his first road trip with us to Southern California to meet other family members.

Dudley was obviously very loved and cared for by his previous owners, and we feel so lucky to get such a wonderful dog.

Thank you Jan and John for helping us through the actual adoption and subsequent post adoption questions.

So there you have it another “happy ending”.

Original Story

Move over, Brad Pitt!  I am one hot-looking dude -a big 24 lb. hunk of muscle, my name is Papa, and I am a 4½ year old lovable fawn pug boy whose owner no longer had time for me, so turned me in to PROS.  I am healthy, up to date on shots, Heartworm negative, neutered, microchipped, house-broken, use the doggy door, and even am trained to use the litterbox!  I like to sleep at the foot of my foster mom’s bed.  I am just sitting here waiting for you to take me to my new forever home where we can live happily together forever after!
